I had a hiatus after the opening of my live exhibit in a local gallery. I took the time to work a little more on my craft. I have decided to work on my own canvases now. Cotton canvas, stretched and glued to poplar wood, gessoed roughly 5 times.
I love how the paint pops on the new surface. I keep a little of the fabric texture showing through, I dont want a perfectly smooth canvas. That way it feels more like I am "drawing" using pastels. Reminiscent of my old methods and textures.
The painting is made after a sketch I made outdoors. My plain air skills improved too if I can say so myself.
